Interim Director

Executive Team

Christopher Blunk

“I began my engineering career working for Caltrans’ Construction Division in Marin County—managing construction projects on the State Highway System taught me how to navigate through challenges under pressure, helped me to become a better project engineer, and made me fall in love with the natural beauty of Marin County. In 2017, I transitioned from state to local government to become the City Engineer and eventually the Public Works Director for the City of Novato, where I enjoyed engaging with residents, partner agencies, and a dedicated team of employees to solve complex problems and enhance the quality of life in the city. It is an honor to serve as the Interim Public Works Director for the County during this time of transition for the department.  I look forward to continuing to serve the Marin community alongside our talented team of public works professionals as we build on the great work already being done.”

“There’s no higher calling in terms of a career than public service, which is a chance to make a difference in people’s lives and improve the world.”  – Jack Lew
