Paradise Cay Maintenance Dredging Project

Posted on July 23, 2024

County Service Area No. 29 – Paradise Cay (CSA29) performs maintenance dredging of Paradise Cay about every four to five years. The purpose is to provide navigational channels for boats in the Paradise Cay residential areas. The next sediment removal effort will occur in Summer 2024. Measures are being taken to protect sensitive aquatic habitat during the dredging process. The dredged material will be barged to the Alcatraz Island Disposal Site (SF-11), in accordance with the Army Corps permit conditions.

The project is expected to start in mid-August and last approximately six weeks, and is estimated to cost $998,000. The work is funded by the CSA29 budget.

More information can be found on the CSA29 webpage.
