Title VI Implementation Plan

About

Title VI Implementation Plan

The Marin County Department of Public Works (DPW) is committed to meeting all Title VI requirements for programs and services delivered to the public. DPW developed a Title VI Implementation Plan as a guide for staff and as a reflection of our commitment to protecting the civil rights of all individuals and groups who receive or participate in Public Works services.

What is Title VI?

Title VI is part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives federal financial assistance. Federal guidance also extends these protections to all programs and activities carried out by federal-aid recipients, subrecipients, and contractors, whether or not a specific activity is federally funded.

A full explanation of Title VI is available on the U.S. Department of Justice's website.
