2024 Pavement Digout – Phase 2
Description
Overview
The 2024 Pavement Digout Project (Phase 2) extends the life of County-maintained roads and prepares roads for future preservation by applying crack seal and repairing isolated pavement failures (referred to as "digouts") depending on the condition of each roadway.
The selected of roads are located the following areas: Kentfield, Marin City, Mill Valley, Strawberry, Sleep Hollow, Fairfax, Point Reyes, Valley Ford, Tomales, Dillon Beach, Santa Venetia. Additionally Fairfax-Bolinas Road and Muir Woods Road will receive repairs.
Funding
Project is estimated to cost $900,000 and will be funded by the County’s Road & Bridge Fund.
Traffic Impacts
Construction will take place during daytime hours with traffic control measures, and there may be some temporary lane closures. Traffic wait times related to this work will be 5 minutes or less. Digouts and crack seals are relatively quick compared to paving work and typically require only one day of mild to moderate traffic impacts per road segment.
Property owners/residents along the roads scheduled for treatment are given direct, advance written notifications ahead of any work that requires their road or driveway to be closed. This is intended to provide them with adequate time to prepare.
The following roads are expected to be affected on the dates listed:
- Angela Ave (Estimated 6/18/25)
- Butterfield Road (Estimated 5/27/25, 5/28/25)
- Fairfax-Bolinas Road (Estimated 6/9/25, 6/10/25, 6/11/25, 6/16/25, 6/17/25)
