Marin County Jail Furniture Replacement

Overview

The Marin County Jail, located at 13 Peter Behr Drive in San Rafael, is comprised of six pods with a combined 222 cells featuring a total of 385 beds. A Marin County Civil Grand Jury report, released in June 2024, identified the need for this project. The work will include replacing beds, shelves and desks in the cells.  

Funding

The cost of the study stage is estimated at $50,000 and is funded be the County General Fund. The cost of potential implementation/construction is unknown at this time, and it will be identified during the design phase which is estimated to cost $400,000.
