2024 Road Sealant (Phase 1)

Description

Overview

This sealant project includes crack sealing, preservation treatments, slurry seal, and striping on approximately 3.5 centerline miles of roadway.  The preservation treatments selected for this project were based on the current condition of the road, utility services' projects coordination and scoping of efficient road groupings to maximize work. These types of sealant projects represent relatively low-cost improvements that prolong the effective/functional life of roadways.

Civic Center Campus:

  • Matthew Hymel Wy (formerly Armory Dr) & Jury Parking Lot - All of the parking lot and access road connecting Civic Center Dr
  • Vera Schultz Dr - Half of the road closest to Civic Center Dr from the middle arch to north arch
  • Lagoon Path, Outer Loop - Portion of the lagoon pathway furthest from the Lagoon Pond and closest to Armory Dr & Jury Parking Lot.

Lucas Valley:

  • Burney Ct - from Mt. Rainier Dr to end
  • Rainier Dr - from west end to Mt. McKinley Rd and from Mt. McKinley Rd to Idylberry Rd
  • Rainier Ct - from Mt. Rainier Dr to end
  • Wittenburg Ct - from Mt. Tallac Ct to end
  • Tallac Ct - from Mt. Shasta Dr to end
  • Muir Ct - from Lucas Valley Rd to end

Tamalpais:

  • Starling Rd - from Flamingo Rd to Robin Rd
  • Robin Rd - from Ross Dr to Flamingo Rd
  • Flamingo Rd - from 100 ft north of Starling Rd to Marin Ave

Green Point:

  • Archibald Ln - from Atherton Ave (West End) to Atherton Ave (East End)

Santa Venetia:

  • N San Pedro Rd - from Garden Ave / Golf Ave to Meriam Dr
  • Lowell Ave - from Meriam Ave to east end and from Mark Twain Ave to south end
  • Mark Twain Ave - from Whittier Ave to Lowell Ave
  • Cushing Ave - from Lowell Ave (North End) to Lowell Ave (South End)
  • Madison Ave - from Meriam Ave to end

Funding

The estimate for this project is $500,000 and will be funded by the County's Road & Bridge Fund.

Traffic impacts

Construction will take place during daytime hours with traffic control measures. Ten-minute delays during lane closures, and short duration residential road closures are necessary; however, access will always be provided for active emergency service vehicles. Every effort will be made to provide advanced notice and minimize inconvenience to residents.
