This is to accommodate the holiday traffic. From 1/2/25 through 1/5/25, the road will be closed at milepost 5.73 to allow for construction activities as the project nears completion, weather permitting. After 1/5/25, it is anticipated that the road will be closed from Azalea Hill to Ridgecrest on weekdays only. By mid-January, the project is expected to be completed and the roadway will fully reopen. See project webpage for details.

Marin County Civic Center Roof Cleaning

Description

Overview

The purpose of this project is to address the maintenance needs of the Marin County Civic Center's liquid-applied waterproofing roof membrane. The Civic Center, encompassing the Hall of Justice, Civic Center Library, and Administration Offices, began a roof membrane replacement project in 2016, with the application process being completed for the Administrative Wing and the Dome in 2018, and for the Hall of Justice in 2020. Over the years, the roof has accumulated dirt and debris, diminishing the vibrant blue color of the new membrane. This project will remove the accumulation to allow the blue color to become visible once again.

Funding

The estimated cost of $1.5M will be funded by the County's 2024-2025 fiscal year's Capital Improvement Projects allocation.

Public impacts

None expected.
