Fairfax Bolinas Road Repairs at milepost 5.73

Description

The project will reconstruct approximately 120 feet of roadway where a slide has reduced the structural integrity of Fairfax-Bolinas Road near milepost 5.73. The effort will include roadway repair, subsurface drainage, asphalt resurfacing, shoulder backing and roadway striping. To improve integrity and safety of the roadway, the project will also be making roadway upgrades at the culvert near milepost 5.73. The associated drainage improvements require permitting from regulatory agencies.

Traffic impacts

To accommodate safe construction, Fairfax-Bolinas Road will be fully closed from Azalea Hill to Ridgecrest on weekdays. The section is a more rural stretch of the road than the rest of Fairfax-Bolinas Road, but it is a popular recreational biking route, and so it will be secured and reopened for access on weekends. However, here will be periods of time with adjusted access. Please see TIMELINE section below for details. During both the full closure and single-lane phases, active emergency service vehicles will be granted access at all times, as will Marin Water work vehicles.
