Lucas Valley Road Bridge Replacement over Miller Creek
Description
Overview
The project is in the planning phase, but will either retrofit or replace the 60-year-old, two-lane bridge over Miller Creek in Lucas Valley-Marinwood, between Mt Lassen Drive and Huckleberry Road . The current bridge configuration is a constriction to water flow in the creek that has resulted in scour and damage to the bridge foundations.
Completion of this project would ensure that travel on Lucas Valley Road over Miller Creek remains open and safe for many decades to come.
Funding
Project is estimated to cost $9.7 million. It should be noted that 80% of the cost is eligible for reimbursement under the Federal Highbridge Program, administered by Caltrans.
Traffic impacts
This will be determined closer to the construction phase. However, it is expected that vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic may be diverted during construction.
