Fairfax-Bolinas Road CONDITION UPDATES, thank you for your patience: At milepost 5.73, Fairfax-Bolinas Road will be open on weekdays and weekends from 12/16/24 through 1/1/25 (weather permitting), with traffic controlled through a single lane with alternating access. This is to accommodate the holiday traffic. From 1/2/25 through 1/5/25, the road will be closed at milepost 5.73 to allow for construction activities as the project nears completion, weather permitting. After 1/5/25, it is anticipated that the road will be closed from Azalea Hill to Ridgecrest on weekdays only. By mid-January, the project is expected to be completed and the roadway will fully reopen. See project webpage for details.

Meadow Way Slide Repair

Description

Overview

The project involves mitigating a landslide that occurred during the 2022/2023 storm season on Meadow Way. The landslide damaged the paved shoulder, and the upper bank was eroded. The damage is about 105 feet along the roadway. The damaged portion of Meadow Way is located approximately 500 feet from the intersection of Meadow Way and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in San Geronimo.

Funding

Estimated project cost is $600K, for which the County is pursuing FEMA reimbursement.

Public impacts

One lane alternating traffic at the slide area can be expected to accommodate the construction of the wall. The one lane alternating traffic will be controlled by a flagger on both and a marked detour route. For specific stages of the work, it will likely be necessary to close the road for several hours at a time. Once the schedule and impacts are known, public outreach will be early and often and efforts will be made to minimize public inconvenience especially around the school.
